Position Overview: MIT Sloan's Center for Information Systems Research (MIT CISR) is looking for a research scientist to conduct practice-based research on digital strategy and business intelligence. MIT CISR research scientists lead and participate on research teams doing rigorous research on topics such as the business value of digitization, IT-enabled business innovation and agility, knowledge management, enterprise architecture, IT leadership models, IT governance, social media, business analytics, mobile strategy, and digital business models. Research areas must address issues of interest to senior level executives of large organizations. This position also involves presenting to executive audiences, managing sponsor relationships, and some recruiting of new sponsors. It is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Some travel is required.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Ph.D., preferably in a business and IT-related field. Research experience in developing concepts and frameworks that can help executives better understand how to use, manage, and implement information technology is extremely important. Management or consulting experience is desirable. The ideal candidate will also have experience with client or sponsor relationship management and a good publication record. The candidate must be capable of working both independently and as a member of a research team. Excellent English interpersonal and writing skills are required. Demonstrated potential to excel in presenting research ideas to executives is also required. This position is a 2-year appointment with potential extensions or conversion to ongoing appointment.

Supervision Received: This position reports to the Director of MIT Sloan's Center for Information Systems Research.
