The Association of American Geographers Annual Meeting will be held in Los Angeles, CA during April 9-13, 2013. The main objective of this conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines with different background to promote the development of this scientific field.

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to SUBMIT ABSTRACTS up to 250 words to AAG 2013. Given the leading position of California in the ICT and smartphone sectors, this session aims at bringing together practitioners with academics and policy makers from different backgrounds and geographical areas of the world to share their experiences about ICT use to improve transport. The focus will be on the implications of ICT use among different socio-economic groups and the respective environmental justice implications, along with new business opportunities offered through the increased use of ICT to offer a better or more efficient transportation.

Contributions for this SPECIAL SESSION could include, but are not limited to, papers about:
i.	Case studies from developed or developing countries with advanced or restricted ICT and/or transport infrastructure available
ii.	New or developing business models arising through the use of ICT for transport

Practical or theoretical papers are welcome, but contributions addressing technological challenges within urban areas are particularly welcome.
The regional focus is open, and papers on international topics are welcome. There is particular interest for evidence from California, North America, Latin America or the Asia/Pacific region.
You may contact the session organiser regarding specific queries.
