** EMMSAD'2013 - Call for Papers
**
**  Eighteenth International Conference on
** Exploring Modelling Methods in Systems Analysis and Design
**
** http://www.emmsad.org
**
** Valencia, Spain, June 17-18; held in conjunction with CAiSE’2013
**

* Background
The field of information systems analysis and design includes numerous
information modelling methods and notations (e.g. ER, ORM, UML, ArchiMate,
EPC, BPMN, DEMO) that are typically evolving. The EMMSAD conference focuses
on exploring, evaluat-ing, and enhancing modelling methods and
methodologies for the analysis and design of information systems,
enterprises, and business processes. Though the need for such studies is
well rec-ognized, there is a paucity of such research in the literature.
The objective of the EMMSAD conference series is to provide a forum for
researchers and practitioners interested in modelling methods for systems
analysis and design to meet, and exchange research ideas and results. It
also provides the participants an opportunity to present their research
papers and experience reports, and to take part in open discussions.
EMMSAD’2013 is the eighteenth in a very successful series of EMMSAD events.
Since 2009, the EMMSAD proceedings have been published in Springer's LNBIP
series.

* Topics of Interest
Relevant topics include (but are not limited to) theoretical and/or
empirical or case-based exploration of modelling methods and methodologies
in a systems analysis and design context. The topics of interest include
general modelling issues such as:
Relevant topics include (but are not limited to) theoretical and/or

* Important dates (2013)
Paper abstracts: February 17;
Full paper submissions: February 24;
Notification of acceptance: March 24.

* Submission guidelines
The workshop accepts two types of submissions: Completed Research and
Research-in-Progress.

Completed Research papers should not only discuss research findings, but
also the initial re-search objectives, the research methodology used, as
well as its appropriateness and its execution. Research-in-progress papers
report on research that is well underway with preliminary results available
at the time of the conference. These papers should clearly identify the
research objectives of the ongoing research effort, the research method
used, and the progress made so-far.
Submissions should not exceed 15 pages (including references and
appendices). The paper may refer to a theoretical analysis of a scientific
challenge, as well as the presentation of a solution to an identified
scientific challenge. Reviewers will also be asked to evaluate the
effective use of space. A 10 page paper might score better than a 15 page
paper.

Only electronic submissions in Adobe PDF format are accepted. For more
details refer to http://www.emmsad.org

Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings, which will be
available at the conference, and should use the Springer LNBIP style.
Top papers in the completed research category may also be con-sidered
(after extension and enhancement) either for chapters in a book, or for
journal publications in the International Journal of Information System
Modelling and Design.
