The School of Business at Montclair State University 
<unsaved:///business.montclair.edu> invites applications for the 
position of Chair of the Department of Information and Operations 
Management (IOM) on a tenure track line starting September 1, 2013. IOM 
is an interdisciplinary department focusing on enterprise information 
systems and operations management.   The Chair of IOM provides academic 
leadership within the department and contributes to the overall teaching 
and research mission of the School of Business and Montclair State 
University.  The Chair will provide vision for the department in order 
to foster programmatic innovation, enrollment growth, development of 
industry partnerships, and enhanced research and curricular 
relationships across the university.  The Chair of the department 
reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business.

*MAJOR DUTIES*

- Serve as the Department Chair of the Information and Operations 
Management Department
- Teach at the undergraduate and MBA levels
- Conduct peer reviewed research in information systems or a closely 
related field
- Lead the growth of the department's majors
- Evaluate faculty for personnel decisions
- Recruit adjunct and full-time faculty
- Advise students
- Promote development of online programs
- Foster a sense of student and faculty community within the department
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean

The School of Business is accredited by AACSB International at both the 
undergraduate and graduate levels; it offers BS in Business 
Administration, BS in Accounting, BA in Economics, MBA, and MS 
Accounting degree programs.  A total of 75 full-time faculty members 
bring an impressive range of expertise to the School, with terminal 
degrees and advanced training from leading universities.  The School of 
Business is committed to raising our scholarly profile and has dedicated 
substantial resources to support faculty research and development; the 
School houses research journals in multiple disciplines and has hosted 
several national and international business conferences.


*QUALIFICATIONS *

Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. in information systems or related 
field, a record of high-quality research publications sufficient for 
appointment at the Associate or Full level, demonstrated excellence in 
teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels evidenced by peer 
and student evaluations, evidence of the ability to build relationships 
with business partners, and strong communication skills.  Candidates 
with successful academic administrative experience, industry experience, 
expertise in enterprise systems, and experience in the development and 
teaching of hybrid/online programs are highly preferred.
