The emerging technologies in the interdisciplinary areas such as artificial
intelligence, machines learning, data mining, and knowledge management have
enabled computer support systems for educational management and
decision-making both intelligent and applicable. Education decision making
and support systems promote the culture of informed decision-making on the
basis of relevant, reliable, accurate and timely information to educational
policy analysts and policy-makers, educational planners, managers and
administrators, researchers, among others. This special issue of the KM&EL
international journal is dedicated to advanced technological solutions
and novel
methodical approaches toward educational decision and policy making, as
well as their original deployment and assessment in different education and
training settings.

The goal of this Special Issue is to provide a forum for academics and
practitioners to draw attention to future trends and recent developments as
well as practical implementations and evaluation results in decision and
policy making technology for education.

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

   - Novel models and algorithms for education decision making and support
   systems
   - Knowledge management in education decision making and support systems
   - Next generation of education decision making and support systems
   - Evaluation methodologies and practice for education decision making
   and support systems
   - Application case studies of education decision making and support
   systems
   - Impact of education decision making and support systems on the
   stakeholders

We are interested in both theoretical and practical papers that aim to design,
implement, deploy and assess decision support systems for education and
training in every sector from primary and secondary schools, to higher
education and corporate training. We would like to stimulate interest in
the issues across academia, practice, industry, research and policy, and
therefore we welcome focused papers from all sectors.
