POSITION: The University of Alabama in Huntsville (www.uah.edu) invites
nominations and applications for a tenure-track faculty position in
Information Systems, with a specialization in Information Assurance and
Security. We seek applicants who will welcome the challenges and rewards of
serving on the faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and
supportive high technology business community. The appointment would be at
the level of assistant or associate professor and will start in August
2013.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct and publish high quality scholarly research in a
collegial environment in which both intra- and inter-disciplinary
collaboration is valued, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in
programs that emphasize both rigor and experiential learning, participate
actively in the profession, and take part in university service and outreach
to the public.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have (or expect to receive by the start of
Fall term 2013) a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related field and a
primary research and teaching interest in the area of information assurance
and security. Because much of the information assurance and security
activity in the community involves Department of Defense contracts,
candidates must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance. Strong
potential for publishing high quality research is required. Professional
experience and certification are pluses.

UNIVERSITY AND COMMUNITY: The College of Business Administration has
approximately 40 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 35 research and part-time
faculty, 1000 undergraduates and 500 master's students. It offers four
graduate degrees - an M.B.A. emphasizing technology management, an M.S. in
Information Systems, an M.S. in Information Assurance and Security (jointly
with Colleges of Engineering and Science), and a Master's of Accounting, and
several graduate certificates, including one in Information Assurance and
Security. Undergraduate majors include management, marketing, information
systems, accounting, finance, and economics. The IS undergraduate major
offers a concentration in Information Assurance.

UAHuntsville is a Carnegie very high research activity institution and is
ranked by the NSF among the top 10 in the nation for federal funding of
research in management and economics. Barron's rates the University's
admissions as the most competitive in Alabama. The College of Business
Administration is accredited by AACSB International. The culture of the
college is collaborative and supportive of excellence in research and
teaching. The Huntsville metropolitan area is a culturally diverse community
with a population of about 400,000 and a high concentration of technical
professionals. The area is home to more than 50 Fortune 500 companies and
several federal research facilities, including NASA Marshall Space Flight
Center and the Army's Missile Defense Agency, the Army's Material Command,
the Aviation and Missile Command, and the Space and Missile Defense Command.

APPLICATIONS: Applicants must submit the following via email at
iasearch at uah.edu, a letter of nomination or application; a vita; and a list
of 3 references with their contact information, including name, address,
phone, and email addresses. Candidates should also provide evidence of
teaching performance if available and a sample of their research work.
Applications will be considered in the order they are received; the position
