Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth

Research Position in IS or Service Operations

December 2012

The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Dartmouth College's graduate school of management, invites applications for a research position in Information Systems or Service Operations. The 1-year position (with the possibility of renewal) will examine the organizational and economic aspects IT Security Response Teams. This interdisciplinary project will consider how to configure response teams (skills and capacity), the economics of team capacity and response, and the operational considerations of effectively routing work through teams (e.g., skill-based routing). The candidate will be housed at the Tuck's Center for Digital Strategies but will work on an interdisciplinary team spanning computer science, psychology, sociology, and business as part of a multi-year, grant-funded effort. Candidates must have an IS or Operations background, with an interest in teams. Educational backgrounds could come from several areas including a PhD in:

*             Business (Management Information Systems/Operations/Technology)
*             Information Science
*             Industrial Engineering

Our preference is for candidates who have recently completed their PhD (post-doc). Candidates with more experience who have direct interest in this research area are also welcome. We are interested in candidates who will produce research of excellent quality that will have high impact on the field. The successful candidate could start anytime in the April-July 2013 window.

Founded in 1900, the Tuck School is the first graduate school of management. The Tuck faculty numbers 50 full-time positions as well as visiting lecturers, post-docs, and adjunct faculty in specialized fields.
