The Department of Decision Sciences and Information Management of KU Leuven invites applications for a full-time academic position in Business Information Management and Systems, at the Faculty of Economics and Business, to begin October 2013.

Applicants need to have (1) a Ph.D. with a concentration in information systems or a closely related field; (2) an excellent research record evidenced by publications in international top-tier and highly respected journals and indicating strong growth potential; and (3) a demonstrated capability for high quality teaching. Experience in research based teaching is a plus. Successful candidates will have to support and promote national and international research collaborations in the fields of business information management and systems. They are expected to develop their research program in close collaboration with the faculty members of the Leuven Institute for Research in Information Systems (http://www.econ.kuleuven.be/liris). Candidates will focus on fundamental as well as applied research regarding the intersection of business and information technology and will set up a research program in a promising area of business information management and systems. A non-limited list of examples is: business governance, risk and compliance; business analytics, business modeling (processes, data, rules, events and decisions), technology and digital innovation in the service economy, IS/IM/IT strategy, information and knowledge management.

Successful applicants will gradually take on teaching responsibilities in graduate and undergraduate courses in Business Information Management and Systems, and in related areas. As such the candidate will support the education in Information and Decision Sciences of the Department of Decision Sciences and Information Management. The candidate is expected to meet the KU Leuven educational standards for academic curricula with a strong commitment to quality of education. Successful applicants, who are not proficient in Dutch, will be provided language training in order to be able to also instruct in the Dutch language within three to five years. Proficiency in the English language is also required of all applicants.

The Leuven Institute for Research in Information Systems (LIRIS) offers a dynamic and internationally oriented research environment. LIRIS is embedded in the Faculty of Economics and Business. In recent years several independent accreditation commissions systematically ranked our faculty highly in terms of quality of teaching and research. One of the Faculty's most important assets is its vast national and international network both in academia as in the business world.
