Managing Director: Master of Information Systems
The Raj Soin School of Business at Wright State University seeks a
full-time Managing Director for the Master of Information Systems Program.
Background
The Master of Information Systems Program has enjoyed continued growth
over its first four years, and is a well-respected source of
executive-level Information Systems education in the region. The program
is a valuable source of knowledge and best practices for firms within a
five state region. Our program engages our faculty and students with
the business community with the objectives of (1) improving Information
System practice (2) bringing improved financial returns to our business
partners (3) ensuring relevance in our research and pedagogical
endeavors and (4) providing mutual and valuable learning opportunities
between academia and industry.
To ensure the continued growth and excellence of the program, the
Managing Director will satisfy the following job responsibilities.
Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage the
operations of the Master of Information Systems program. To accomplish
these duties, the selected candidate will be responsible for the duties
and goals listed below.
. Develop marketing plans, promotional materials, and disseminate
materials to appropriate target markets.
. Recruit 25 to 30 qualified students for each of two Master of
Information Systems cohorts per year.
. Develop materials for and manage, in cooperation with Department
staff, program residencies, project presentations and the program
Hooding Ceremonies.
. Manage Pilot course sites and supervise graduate student assistants.
. Assist students in the program regarding financial, registration,
and course related questions and issues including those related to
capstone projects.
. Supervise program participation in National and International
program rankings.
. Recruit and coordinate industry participation in the program.
. Design and maintain alumni databases, industry databases, and
promotion databases.
. Coordinate faculty participation in student capstone projects as
faculty advisors.
. Organize webinars, symposia, and workshops related to the program.
. Serve as the primary liaison with industry groups, such as Dayton
Technology First and the Association for Information Systems.
. Promote the Master of Information Systems Program and the
department at industry events, site visits, and professional association
meetings.
. Design and produce a program newsletter and targeted email campaigns.
. Serve as the first point of contact for industry, students, and
government agencies.
. Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate information systems courses.
Job Qualifications
We seek candidates with a proven record of performance and more than
five years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
. Information systems implementation and innovation
. Consulting experience in managing local, global and/or
international information technology or information systems with a major
firm
. Information systems analytics and value assessment
. Information systems optimization
. Teaching in one or more of the following areas: principles of
information systems, information systems analysis and design, strategic
information systems in organizations, data management and database
design, and project management
A Masters degree with a major or concentration in Information Systems is
required, and a PhD in Information Systems or related field is highly
desirable, but not required. This is a non-tenure track position. The
position is renewable on an on-going basis subject to future budget
considerations. The salary is competitive and commensurate with
