9:00-9:15 Welcome and introduction – Rony Medaglia

9:15-10:15 Invited talk by Prof. John Leslie King, W.W. Bishop Professor
in the School of Information at the University of Michigan:

Title: “Government Is the Problem; There Is No Such Thing as Society”
Abstract: A generation has passed since Ronald Reagan and Margaret
Thatcher made those pronouncements. And yet, government and society
appear to be around yet, even if somewhat stirred and shaken. In fact,
there are people working on eGovernment and the Information Society.
It's time to take stock of the sentiments expressed by Reagan and
Thatcher, not because they were fundamentally wrong, but because those
strident pronouncements, when taken in context, provide guidance to our
efforts in eGovernment and the Information Society. This talk is focused
on that guidance.
