The Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri - Kansas City is seeking an energetic and innovative individual to join the leadership team as Chair, Department of Management.

The Bloch School is committed to producing graduates who are competitive globally, able to function in diverse international teams, and innovate across disciplines and around the world. The Department of Management plays a key role in cultivating a global mindset and talent for innovation in our students across undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs in the disciplines of organizational behavior, information systems, human resources, international management, and strategic management. The department has eight full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty members, and five full-time teaching professors and lecturers.

The successful candidate will serve as a leader for departmental strategies in a dynamic environment. Our new 75,000 sq. ft. building is scheduled for completion in August 2013. The facility is designed with unique architectural spaces to promote experiential teaching and learning and fundamentally change the pedagogy of management education. The number of faculty is expected to double over the next few years. The Chair is responsible for guiding the research and teaching programs of the department, ensuring faculty are supported and developed in line with Department and School strategies, and making administrative and budgetary decisions. We seek a creative individual who will successfully undertake both internal and external responsibilities, including growing programs and continuing to strengthen ties with alumni and the Kansas City business community.

The successful candidate should have an ability to lead a diverse faculty in implementing departmental goals, aligned with the school's strategic initiatives, to prepare students for leadership roles in a dynamic global environment, attract and retain outstanding faculty, enhance scholarly impact, and integrate entrepreneurial and innovative approaches with the study of management. Candidates should possess:

* An excellent record of teaching and scholarly research in any related management discipline warranting a tenured appointment at the Full or Senior Associate level.

*          A Ph.D. in a related management field from a top school.

* The ability to lead effectively in a participative, collegial and creative environment.
