The Ph.D. in Management Program offered through the College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson University in South Carolina is currently accepting applications from prospective students for admission to the Fall of 2013 term. The Ph.D. in Management program prepares students interested in the Information Systems (IS) field for research focused academic careers. The program offers full tuition in conjunction with an assistantship to cover living expenses. Admitted students have been successful in receiving additional money through competitive university-wide fellowships. The program offers world class faculty, a strong research orientation, a flexible curriculum, numerous field-based doctoral seminars, strong methodological training, personalized attention, and outstanding facilities in a beautiful college-town setting with nearby mountains and lakes.

The IS faculty within the Department of Management at Clemson University are known for conducting leading research in numerous areas in the field, including: business process change, e-business initiatives, strategic information systems, human computer interactions, inter-organizational information systems, IT adoption/use/impacts, IT-driven changes in organizations, project management, and supply chain systems, among others. The IS faculty also hold numerous editorial positions, including senior editorship positions in top journals like MIS Quarterly and the Journal of the Association for Information Systems. A 2008 analysis of 610 different institutions covering 48 countries, 3404 authors, and 5515 author appearances, finds Clemson University's IS program ranked number 1 among institutions' whose doctoral student publish in the 6 leading IS journals, in line with or ahead of universities like  the University of British
Columbia, University of Minnesota, University of Arizona, and Indiana University among others. This analysis covers the 5 year period from 2003 to 2007. Clemson University ranks among the top 10 universities in the world, based on the top 6 IS journals, with the William Lee Distinguished Chair, ranked 4th in the world among 3404 researchers.

Clemson University is ranked 25th among public universities in the US New and World Report for 2013. It is a highly selective, public, land-grant university in a college-town setting along a dynamic Southeastern corridor, and against a beautiful backdrop of lakes and mountains. While enjoying the benefits of a small college town, many faculty enjoy opportunities afforded by a 30 minute commute from Greenville, South Carolina (a thriving mid-sized city with a strong industrial base, home to BMW and Michelin) and a 1 hour and 45 minute commute from Atlanta, Georgia. Clemson is committed to world-class teaching, research, and public service, and continues to attract some of the country's best students. The 17,000 students represent a diverse and capable student body that can select from over 70 undergraduate and 100 graduate degree programs offered by Clemson's 5 colleges. Clemson's business program has reached top-20 status, according to
Business Week magazine's ranking (Spring 2007) of "The Best Undergraduate Business Schools." Clemson's undergraduate business program is 19th among the public, doctoral-granting schools on the list, and 45th on the magazine's comprehensive list of public and private institutions.

For admissions, priority will be given to applications completed by the January 15th deadline, with applications considered on a limited basis after this date.
