Call for MIS Papers regarding Latin America
                      (Latin America Mini-Track)
                 (Spanish and Portuguese Track)
Submissions should be made by February 22, 2013 (11:59 PM CST).

Latin America has shown its ups and downs but overall it has grown
at a steady pace. Progress is being made on poverty levels and
higher incomes have fueled demand for technology which in turn can
have additional benefits to these countries. At the same time there
is great interest in information technology and the positive
impacts that these systems and networks can have on the economy,
government, and society. The region is thus well positioned at this
point to take advantage of ICT to enhance productivity, reach higher
levels of competitiveness at the global level, improve government
services, and provide educational opportunities for its population.
Latin America is in a unique position to provide examples about the
adoption of information technology in different regional, cultural,
and economic contexts. In this track we seek to advance the knowledge
that scholars studying the region have to share about the experiences
of companies, the public, and other segments of society have had
with ICTs.

The mini-track possible topics include (but are not limited to):
