Hi,

If your research data is location based (e.g. city, state, county, country)
it may be suitable for spatial analysis (GIS). (If you're not sure let's
open a dialogue - send me a note). Consider submitting to the AMCIS
Minitrack:

*AMCIS 2013 Conference, Chicago, Illinois, August 14-17, 2013***

*
*

*Papers are Encouraged for Submission to Mini-Track on *

* *

*Spatial Business Intelligence, Decision Making, and Management*

in the Track on Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management,

**

*DESCRIPTION*

The mini-track on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) seeks to provide a
forum for research on varied aspects of GIS for business intelligence,
decision-making, knowledge management, and management. This area is
becoming an essential aspect for governments and is growing rapidly this
decade in business. The minitrack encourages manuscript submission on
conceptual theory, methodology, applications, and cases in GIS. Other areas
of interest include rapidly growing mobile location-based applications,
cloud-based GIS, spatialcrowdsourcing, spatial data management and big
data, spatial workforce, and ethical issues. The intent is to advance
knowledge from a relatively nascent level in light of the recent geospatial
revolution and encourage exchange of findings, methodologies, and ideas
between scholars and practitioners in an area ripe for rapid growth in
business and information schools. The mini-track over the past two years
has attracted increasing interest and participation. It is part of the
SIGDSS track and is sponsored by SIGGIS.

*Call For Papers*

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial technologies are growing
rapidly in business and government. Increasingly these applications involve
business intelligence (BI). Although there is considerable research on GIS
technology and geographic information science, there has been relatively
little research in spatialdecision making in business and organizations.
This track seeks manuscripts that address conceptual theory, methodology,
applications, and cases on these topics. The relevance to research is to
build up greater knowledge of the geo-spatial aspects of decision-making
and management, and to develop theory and applications, sometimes building
on well-known concepts in the DSS and MIS fields. The mini-track will
address the evolving areas of GIS, GIScience, and related technologies such
as RFID, imagery, location for mobile devices, and sensors, cloud-based GIS,
and expansive spatial information. Since this area is rapidly growing in
business, the mini-track can shed light on a new and evolving field. The
mini-track findings, results, and discussions will also inform the
managers, strategic thinkers, and policy makers in many organizations that
are building, deploying, and managing applications in these areas. This
mini-track is supported by SIG-GIS of AIS.
