Assistant Professor in Information Systems

The Department of Management Science and Information Systems at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a of Management Information Systems (MIS) tenure-track assistant professor position starting September 1, 2013. Preferred areas of interest include health care informatics, business intelligence, predictive business analytics, and other related MIS topics will be considered.

The candidate should hold a PhD in MIS or a closely-related discipline and exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research and teaching.

The department is part of the AACSB-accredited College of Management, which offers two bachelor and five master’s degrees; a doctoral program started in Fall 2012 with an MIS track launching in 2016. Total enrollment has grown rapidly to about 2400 students and the college is home to several thriving business centers. The individual hired will have a major role in the development of the PhD curriculum and will be instrumental in the delivery of doctoral courses. UMass Boston (www.umb.edu<http://www.umb.edu>) is a Carnegie-classified research-high university, located on Boston harbor in one of the most intellectually rich and innovative cities in the United States.
