Dear colleagues in ITSM and DMSS,
IT Service Management is an emergent area of high relevance for
IT discipline. However, it has been few supported by DSS/DMSS.
We believe that both research communities (ITSM and DMSS) can
collaborate jointly to help in it! Thus, this special issue of IDT journal
invites to contribute with high-quality submissions on such issues.
Deadline is Feb.28.2013. Thanks for your kind academic consideration!
Sincerely,
Guest editors:
Dr. Jorge Marx Gómez, Department of Informatics, University of
Oldenburg, Germany
Dr. Manuel Mora, Department of Information Systems, Autonomous
University of Aguascalientes, Mexico
Dr. Fen Wang, Central Washington University, USA
Dr. Ovsei Gelman, CCADET-UNAM, Mexico

Special issue in: “IT Service Management and Engineering: an
Intelligent Decision-making Support Systems Approach"
============================================================================
Aims and scope.
The main objective of this special issue is to support and advance the
development of constructs, frameworks-models,
methods-processes-techniques, tools-instruments, and instantiations of
systems and components, for supporting the management and engineering
processes in the domain of IT Services Management (ITSM) and
Engineering using an intelligent Decision-making Support Systems
(intelligent DMSS) approach. IT Services are currently engineered and
managed using well-known process standards and models like ITIL v2,
ITIL v3, ISO 20000, CMMI-SVC, ITUP or MOF 4.0. There are also multiple
IT tools for such tasks. However, few of them have incorporated
intelligent techniques. In this special issue, we invite ITSM and AI
international research community to submit high-quality papers for
advancing our theoretical and practical knowledge on such ITSM
management and engineering activities. Given the novelty of this
topic, exploratory and conceptual papers on requirements for these
systems as well as empirical-based papers providing proof of concept
are all welcome.

Deadlines.
Paper submission for review: February 28, 2013
Review results: April 30, 2013
Revised paper submission: June 15, 2013
Final acceptance: July 15, 2013
Manuscript delivery to the publisher: July 31, 2013

Main topics (but not limited to):
Theoretical/conceptual, empirical/statistic-based,
modeling/simulation-based or design engineering-oriented studies on:
constructs, frameworks-models, methods-processes-techniques (includes
computational mechanisms), tools-instruments, and/or instantiations of
systems and components for designing and building intelligent DMSS
that support IT service management and engineering decision-making
process.

Review and submission instructions.
Each paper will be examined and accepted or rejected based on its own
merit and subject appropriateness using a double-blind peer review
process. All papers must be original, high-quality, and of
approximately 7,000 to 8000 words. Papers should not have been
previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
One issue of the journal includes about 5-6 papers. The number of
figures, tables and equations should be included within the text for
readability. Full papers must be emailed to Professor Jorge Marx
(jorge.marx.gomez at uni-oldenburg.de) with a copy to Professor Manuel
Mora (mmora at securenym.net and dr.manuel.mora.uaa at gmail) before or
on February 28, 2013, according to submission guidelines (please
consult them in:
http://www.iospress.nl/journal/intelligent-decision-technologies/ ).
