* 2nd Call for papers for Pre-ECIS 2013 Workshop

* Enterprise systems and development networks: towards a research agenda

June 5 2013

This one day ECIS 13 workshop aims at increasing the participants' general understanding about enterprise systems (ES) development networks, and creating a research agenda for studying enterprise systems development networks. Briefly we aim at increasing our understanding on different methods, means, issues, challenges and solutions of ES and their development, which typically takes place in networks of several organizations; user organizations and their departments, consultation houses and their experts, and the system vendors. In particularly, we are interested in papers that discuss ES development networks from the viewpoints, including, but not limited to the following:

- Enterprise, software, systems or information architectures in ES development networks
- Knowledge sharing, organizational learning and organizational cultures in ES development networks
- Information systems development methods and practices for ES networks
- Software development and testing practices in ES development networks
- Requirements management in ES development networks
- Project management issues in ES development networks
- Organizational issues, such as strategies, vendor relationships, and SLAs
- Different stakeholders in ES development networks

We are looking for short position papers that provide insights about the complex process of ES development in the networks of organizations. Each position paper is expected to deepen our understanding of the phenomena and contribute to the research agenda so that, as a corollary of the workshop there will be methods and practices that guarantee ES implementation success with more certainty.

Workshop organizers

The workshop is organized as a collective endeavor by three Finnish research groups:

Type of submissions

Prior the workshop, the participants are asked to write a short (2-3 pages long, max 1,500 words) position paper that contribute to the ES development network research agenda development. However, position papers itself do not have to propose a new agenda, but show gaps in ES research and/or practice.

Position papers should be sent no later than March 22 2013 to taru.salmimaa at tut.fi. They will then be reviewed by the international program committee, and evaluated against the quality and variedness of submissions.

The position papers will be used as a basis for group allocations, and as a basis for discussions.

All position papers will be published in the Series of Lappeenranta University of Technology; Software Engineering and Information Management, with an ISBN number. Also a workshop report is to be published in the Communications of the AIS.
