[AISWorld] Call for Workshop/Tutorial Proposals for AMCIS 2013

We invite scholars and practitioners to submit proposals for workshops and tutorials for AMCIS 2013. The theme of AMCIS 2013 is "Hyperconnected World: Anything, Anywhere, Anytime."  We invite proposals that reflect this theme or any other topics that would be of interest to IS scholars and practitioners.

The workshops and tutorials take place on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Important Dates:

* Deadline for proposal submissions: March 18, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. CST
* Notification of acceptance/rejection: April 22, 2013

Descriptions of Workshops:

We welcome workshops offered by both scholars and practitioners that facilitate discussions and explorations of: (i) ideas, techniques and methodologies to advance research or teaching in MIS, or (ii) IS-related concepts and/or products from industry and their application to academia or educational curricula.

Descriptions of Tutorials:

We welcome tutorials offered by both scholars and practitioners that offer training in, or a comprehensive understanding of, an emerging field or a state-of-the-art topic in MIS.

* Reviewing for MIS Journals
* Theory Building in MIS Research
* Developing MIS Papers for Practitioner Audiences
* Active Learning in the Classroom
* Using Tablets to Enhance Classroom Teaching and Learning
* Bringing Real-World Issues into MIS Classrooms: A Multi-media Case Study Approach
* Ubiquitous Commerce (e.g., RFID): Applications and Challenges
* Designing and Teaching Information Security in the MIS curriculum
* Exploring the Mobile App Ecosystem
* The Gamification of Work, Commerce and Education
* Design of Digital Future: The Zachman Framework and Perspective
* Big Data and Business Analytics
* Using Open Source Technologies to Design Web 2.0 Applications
* PLS versus LISREL: Which is More Appropriate?
* ASP.NET and Web Services: Introducing the Service Oriented Architecture into the MIS Curriculum
* Web 2.0: Overview, Principles, Constituents, and Business Models
* Logical Partitioning and Strategy for Server Virtualization

When you are done filling out the proposal template, go to http://aisel.aisnet.org/amcis2013_workshops and follow the instructions to submit the proposal.
