Nine-Month Non-Tenure Track Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor

Job Summary:  The University of Connecticut, School of Business, Department of Operations and Information Management invites applicants for one position, either at the Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor rank in the area of Management Information Systems.  This is a nine month non-tenure track faculty position for one academic year.  We encourage applications from candidates whose expertise and interest is in technical and quantitative areas of MIS.  The position will be primarily based at the University’s Stamford regional campus, but may also require teaching courses at the School of Business’s Hartford location or the Storrs campus.

Candidates for the Visiting Assistant Professor level must have demonstrated excellence or strong potential in teaching and in research.  Candidates with teaching excellence but no research program and no Ph.D. degree in place before start of the academic year will be considered for a Visiting Instructor appointment.  Teaching responsibilities will include a four course load (Visiting Assistant Professor) or seven course load (Visiting Instructor) for the academic year.  Courses will be at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels with classes assigned in Stamford, Downtown Hartford, or the Storrs campus.

Qualifications:  

Minimum Qualifications:  Qualified applicants at the Visiting Instructor rank must possess a Master’s degree and demonstrated teaching excellence in relevant courses.  Qualified candidates at the Visiting Assistant Professor rank must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree as well as demonstrated teaching excellence in relevant courses and an active research program.   

Preferred Qualification:  Candidates whose expertise and interest is in technical and quantitative areas of MIS.

Appointment Terms:  This is a nine-month non-tenure track faculty position for one academic year.  Salary will be competitive with the national market.
