ADBIS Conference
---------------------------------------------------

The main objective of the ADBIS series of conferences is to provide a forum for
the dissemination of research accomplishments and to promote interaction and
collaboration between the database and information systems research communities
from Central and East European countries and the rest of the world.
The ADBIS conferences provide an international platform for the presentation of
research on database theory, development of advanced DBMS technologies, and
their advanced applications.
In this year's edition the conference will include a special session on Big
Data and seven associated workshop (details on the web site).

Keynote Speakers
----------------------------------------------------

ADBIS promises a very exciting programme featuring keynotes by distinguished
researchers Anastasia Ailamaki (EPFL, Switzerland) and Martin Theobald
(University of Antwerp, Belgium).

Doctoral Consortium:
----------------------------------
The DC sessions are scheduled in parallel with workshop
sessions affiliated with the ADBIS conference on the 1st of
September.
Each participant will have an opportunity to present
her/his research, followed by discussion with and comments by
senior researchers.

In addition, a poster session will be held during the main
conference. Each participant of the Doctoral Consortium is supposed
to present her/his research during the poster session, thus
increasing the exposure of the research and engaging in
discussions with senior members of the research community.

Related Conferences:
--------------------------------

This year ADBIS will be collaborating with VLDB, which is taking place in Riva
del Garda, Trento, right before ADBIS, in order to facilitate the participation
in both conferences, through a number of travel grants.
