      Organisation

The University of Groningen seeks to fill a tenure track position at the 
department of Innovation Management & Strategy at the Assistant 
Professor level. Experienced assistant/associate professors will be 
considered for this position as well.

The position is situated in the Department of Innovation Management & 
Strategy, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, 
The Netherlands.

The Innovation Management & Strategy department, part of the Faculty of 
Economics and Business, contributes to several programs at the (honors) 
bachelor's, master's, research master's levels and to the PhD program of 
the research school SOM. The department is responsible for the following 
three Master's of Science programs: change management, small business & 
entrepreneurship and strategic innovation management. The department 
covers a variety of interests and backgrounds, and embraces a number of 
different research approaches and methods with a keen focus on quality 
in research and teaching. We focus on applied as well as fundamental 
research questions. Areas of research at the department include 
innovation, entrepreneurship, strategy, information systems & 
organization theory

      Job Description

The assistant professor contributes to research and teaching of the 
department. The applicant is specialized in the following field: 
Information Systems & Change Management. This research fits within the 
research program Innovation & Organization of the Faculty's SOM research 
school. Presently, the department is also recruiting for a full 
professor in Strategy & Organization and for two other tenure track 
positions.


      Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

  * PhD degree in business, economics, sociology or a related
    discipline, and expertise in the field of Information Systems &
    Change Management.
  * a relevant publication record demonstrating candidate's ability (or
    potential) to publish in international academic publications,
    preferably in top tier peer-reviewed journals
  * proven interest and ability in developing courses and teaching at
    the undergraduate and graduate levels and in mentoring students
  * a relevant international network
  * a team player with good communication skills
  * the potential to generate external funding for research projects.


Tenure track positions at the Faculty of Economics and Business are 
temporary positions subject to a tenure decision after a period of six 
years. Formal Tenure track requirements include criteria with respect to 
research prominence, teaching and external funds raising activities. 
During the Tenure track period 50% of the position is reserved for 
research and 50% is devoted to teaching activities.


      Conditions of Employment

The University of Groningen offers a salary depending on qualifications 
and work experience. For candidates at the assistant professor level, 
salary is starting from a minimum of EUR 3,227 gross per month (salary 
scale 11) to a maximum of EUR 5,020 gross per month (salary scale 12) 
for a full-time position, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% 
end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees.

You will be appointed for a period of six years, on the condition of a 
positive mid-term evaluation in the third year of employment. On the 
basis of a positive final evaluation in the sixth year of employment, 
you will be granted tenure.

We assume candidates to start by August 2013, or earlier if possible.
