An opportunity exists for an experienced researcher to be employed in a 2 year Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at the UQ Business School, The University of Queensland. The successful candidate will lead a program of research within a government-funded project carried out jointly by The University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology. 

This role involves work on a major project exploring theoretical foundations of process modeling notations and methods. The focus of the project is to enhance process modeling practice, based on insights from existing theory, such that it results in process models that are reduced in complexity and, thus, more readily understood by target users. The program of work is a continuation of earlier research by UQ and QUT that has examined and developed ontological principles for process modeling (for more details see http://ontology-research.com/).

Applicants must have completed or must be nearing completion of a PhD in Information Systems (or a related discipline); relevant areas of specialisation include conceptual modelling, business process management, and ontology. Experience with conceptual modelling and an existing publication record in high quality conferences and journals are essential. The successful applicant will need the be enthusiastic, self-motivated and keen to make contributions to both theory and practice.
