The Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) is one of the largest

with our industrial partner the successful applicant will play a key
role in making next-generation semantic computing systems a reality by
researching smart energy management systems.

The position focuses on user experience & persuasive technology for
situation awareness in the energy management domain.

The applicant is expected to possess the solid experience using many
of the following skills:
* Third level degree in computer related discipline or strong
background in information systems/HCI/Design/UXD
* Good knowledge of user experience including UI design
principles/patterns, user interaction models, user experience design,
etc.
* Knowledge of persuasive technology and interfaces for decision support

Additional Desirable Experience & Background (inc. qualifications):
* A good record of scientific publication in workshops, conferences,
journals and book chapters.
* Experience/Knowledge of Energy Management Systems
* Experience/Knowledge of Real-time Information Visualization
* Experience with Semantic Web/Linked Data technologies (e.g. RDF, OWL, SPARQL)
* A relevant post graduate degree (MSc, PhD) or relevant industrial experience

The position is full-time, located at DERI Galway. The duration of the
positions will be for 12 months in the first instance.
The salary will be in the range €29,342—€46,255, depending on
qualifications and experience. Closing date for applications is Friday
