Call for Papers: 8th Australian Data Management (DAMA) Conference
(www.dama-conference.com.au <http://www.dama-conference.com.au/> )

Deadline for Submissions: 23 August, 2013

Submissions are invited for the 8th Australian Data Management Conference,
to be held in Melbourne, Australia's cultural capital and World's Most
Liveable City. The Australian DAMA Conference is the most authoritative data
management conference in Australia and provides a national forum for sharing
experiences, best practices and the latest thinking about managing
information at the enterprise level. It is the main event for data
management professionals in Australia and attracts speakers and participants
from around the world. It was the first DAMA conference to be held outside
North America (the first was held in Melbourne in 1996) and still the only
DAMA conference in the Southern Hemisphere.

The conference is officially endorsed by DAMA International (www.dama.org
<http://www.dama.org/> ), the leading standardisation and certification body
in the data management field, and the Australian Computer Society
(www.acs.org.au <http://www.acs.org.au/> ), the peak professional body for
IT practitioners in the Australia.

RELEVANT TOPICS

We are looking for speakers who can share new ideas and practical
experiences in enterprise data and information management. We particularly

management practices defined in the Data Management Body of Knowledge
(DMBOK):

*     Data architecture

*     Data quality

*     Data integration and interoperability

*     Document and content management

*     Metadata management

* Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence

*     Data modelling and design

*     Data security

*     Data storage and operations

We also welcome submissions on new and emerging topics in data management
such as:

*     Big Data

* Managing data in the Cloud

* Agile and lean data management

*     Data virtualisation

*     Mobile data management

SUBMISSION TYPES

Speaking proposals may be one of two types:

1.	Presentations (1 hour)
2.	Workshops (half or full day)

SUBMISSION FORMAT

Proposals should be submitted to submissions at dm-conference.com.au and should
include:

* Submission type (presentation, half day workshop, full day workshop)

*     Presentation title

* Presentation description (max 200 words)

* Speaker name, affiliation and contact details

* Speaker biography and speaking experience

*     Intended audience

If your presentation is accepted, you will be required to submit a full
paper (maximum 10 pages) to support your presentation. This will be
published in a book that will be distributed to all participants and will
provide a permanent record of your contribution. Speakers will receive free
registration to the conference (maximum one per submission).

SELECTION CRITERIA

Submissions will be evaluated by the conference committee based on:

* Relevance to the conference (see topics listed above)

*     Originality

*     Applicability in practice

As in previous years, competition for speaking slots will be tight, so to
maximise your chances of being accepted, emphasise what the audience will
learn from your presentation and how it will benefit them ("what's in it for
me?"). Vendor organisations are welcome to submit proposals in any category,
but sales-oriented presentations will not be accepted.
