Department Chair - Information Technology



Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information
Systems invites applications for the position of Department Chair and full
professor for the Department of Information Technology (IT) at its
Westchester campus in Pleasantville. Appointment at the level of associate
professor will be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications
and outstanding publication record. The position is available immediately
at the end of this hiring process.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

·      Ph.D. in a related computing field with experience commensurate with
that of a full professor (associate professor in exceptional cases).

·      Excellent teaching, scholarship, and service record in order to
serve as a role model and mentor to colleagues.

·      Proven success in sponsored research and prolific publication in top
tier research journals in related computing areas.

·      Experience and leadership in student recruitment and retention.

·      Demonstrated leadership in developing and managing current and
interdisciplinary programs from bachelor to doctoral levels.

·      Experience in program assessment, auditing, and accreditation.

·      Demonstrated ability and desire to work as a team with other
Department Heads, Associate Deans, and faculty colleagues at multiple
campuses of the university.

Established in 1983, the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and
Information Systems was one of the first comprehensive schools of computing
in the country and remains at the forefront of the field. Operating on both
its NYC and Westchester campuses as well as online, the School offers
ABET-accredited bachelor degrees along with Masters and Doctoral degrees.
In 2013 U.S News and World Report ranked Pace University as #1 for Best
Online Bachelor’s Programs out of a field of 237 colleges/universities, and
Seidenberg School’s MS in IT #13 for Best Online Graduate Computer
Information Technology Programs.

The Westchester IT Department has 12 tenured faculty and offers an
undergraduate program in IT, and a graduate and undergraduate program in
Information Systems (IS). IT Westchester faculty have been the PI or co-PI
on grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of
Defense (DoD) in support of cyber-security scholarships, advancing
technology education and other research initiatives in diverse areas
including geron-technology, tele-health, GPS systems, ERP systems, online
education, and experiential education through robotics.  The IT Department
is the home of the NACTEL program, recognized by US News & World Report as
one of the top online programs in the country.
