The School of Business at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand is a leading provider of innovative business education, with strong links to employers and professional bodies. The AUT School of Business invites applications for the position of Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Business Information Systems. Candidates MUST have an earned doctorate in supply chain management (SCM) and/or information systems (IS) fields with proven ability to research and teach in BOTH the SCM & IS subject areas.

Candidates will demonstrate a commitment to research and scholarship through publishing in quality peer-reviewed journals. Evidence of teaching excellence at all levels - i.e. undergraduate and postgraduate (including Master and MBA) and the aptitude to work with students of all levels of ability and from different backgrounds are also sought. Ideal candidates will be experts in various aspects of supply chain management, operations management, business analytics, and enterprise systems management.

Applicants for the Associate Professor position will have a strong academic portfolio with evidences of an established research program, having recently published in top journals in the SCM & IS fields in addition to an ability to attract research funding; supervision of doctoral students to completion; quality service contributions to the department/school/college as well as to the academic discipline - in particular research/administrative leadership; and ability to motivate and mentor staff and students. Evidence of a collegial approach to teaching/research/teamwork is a requirement. As such, we are looking for excellent communication skills and well developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with both, interdisciplinary and disciplinary teams.

The successful applicant will join a small but dynamic group of scholars in the Department of Business Information Systems (BIS) and be able to begin in February 2014. The BIS department is the top performing department at AUT's School of Business in the recent Performance Based Research Funding (national research performance assessment) exercise.
