PH.D. IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The program provides a strong foundation for researchers with courses and practice in various research methodologies, tools and approaches for statistical analysis, critical thinking, academic paper writing, and other research-specific skill sets. Students also acquire extensive knowledge in current Information Systems research in various areas such as electronic markets, e-commerce, global information systems, business intelligence, financial information systems, human-computer interaction, and information systems development, among others.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The Information Systems doctoral program of study is a specialization of the Ph.D. in Business program jointly administered by the Zicklin School of Business and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Students are admitted only on a full-time basis. The first two years of the program comprise course work and the last two are devoted to the dissertation. All students engage actively in research projects with faculty.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The department has 20 full-time Information Systems faculty members with a variety of research interests including e-Business, Human-Computer Interaction, Software Development and Traceability, Financial Information Systems, Electronic Markets, and Global Information Systems, among others. The department maintains a strong research culture with faculty publishing in top-tier journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, and Communications of the ACM.

ADMISSION:
Students are accepted for Fall admission only. The deadline for receiving applications and supporting documents is January 15. Students must submit GMAT or GRE scores and evidence of good scholastic ability.
