Eastern Connecticut State University, Department of Business Administration invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level  in Business Information Systems / Health Care Informatics starting fall 2014.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree in Information Systems or Healthcare Informatics, or a closely related field is required. ABD will be considered. Practical industry experience in Healthcare Information Systems or Information Technology applications in healthcare of minimum one year, research in healthcare IT as well as teaching experience is strongly desired. Areas of expertise sought are healthcare information systems, healthcare information systems implementation and at least two from the following: management information systems, database design, healthcare compliance, process management, business analytics, web technologies and electronic commerce. 

Position Description: Responsibilities include teaching at undergraduate level, advising students and engaging in scholarly work and service. The candidate is expected to teach both in Healthcare Informatics and in IS.

The Business Information Systems Program is part of the Department of Business Administration.  Currently, it has a BIS major and several minors including a Healthcare Informatics minor which was the first such program at any Connecticut university when introduced in 2010.  A new major concentration in Healthcare Informatics is starting in 2014. The BIS program has currently around 100 majors and 200 minors. The BIS student club won a national championship at the 2010 AITP Collegiate Conference has placed among top the 10 at various similar events.
