University College Dublin <http://www.ucd.ie> (UCD) invites applicants 
for a permanent appointment as ICON Professor of Business Analytics. 
This position has been funded as a result of a leadership donation from 
ICON plc <http://www.iconplc.com/> which will further enhance the 
international reputation and reach of the UCD Centre for Business 
Analytics <http://www.ucd.ie/cba> in the School of Business. This 
commitment includes the funding of two further academic positions and a 
number of PhD scholarships or Post-Docs in Business Analytics at UCD.

The appointee will become a member of the MIS Subject Area 
<http://mis.ucd.ie> within the UCD School of Business 
<http://www.ucd.ie/business> and will be expected to actively lead the 
development of the School's profile in teaching, research and innovation 
in Business Analytics within the UCD Centre for Business Analytics.

business school and research centre and the UCD Centre for Business 
Analytics <http://www.ucd.ie/cba> is the main centre for business 
analytics research in Ireland. UCD is the only business school in 
Ireland to hold the triple crown of accreditation from AACSB

*The successful applicant will offer leadership in the following areas:*

  * *Research:* The MIS Subject Area places strong emphasis on research
    leading to publication in highly-regarded international,
    peer-reviewed, academic journals, and in leading debates in the
    field of Business Analytics in the academic and public space. It is
    expected that the successful applicant will build on the existing
    achievements of the MIS area and BA group in order to enact
    transformational change, leading to the development of an
    international centre of renown for Business Analytics.
  * *Teaching and Learning:* MIS is a major contributor to the Business
    School's undergraduate <http://www.ucd.ie/quinn/courses/>,
    postgraduate <http://www.smurfitschool.ie/mastersprogrammes/>and
    executive education
    <http://www.smurfitschool.ie/executiveeducation/> programmes. This
    includes BComm, MBA, PhD programmes and especially the MSc in
    Business Analytics
    <http://www.ucd.ie/smurfitschool/businessanalytics/>. The School is
    currently developing a proposal for an undergraduate degree in
    Business Analytics to commence in 2015. It is expected that the
    successful candidate will play a leadership role in further
    curriculum and programme development for Business Analytics.
  * *Strategic Planning:* i.e. In conjunction with Management, support
    the formulation and implementation of policies to develop the
    academic and strategic potential of the School.
  * *Administration:* i.e. Administrative & managerial duties as
    appropriate to the role.

Appointment will be made on scale (between EUR96,064 and EUR136,276 per 
annum) in accordance with the Irish Department of Finance guidelines.
