The College of Business, Oregon State University, in Corvallis, OR invites applicants for a full-time (1.0 FTE), nine-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Business Information Systems (BIS) with special interest and experience in Business Analytics, to begin September 16, 2014.



The duties of this position include teaching, research and service activities. Primary teaching responsibilities include (under)graduate courses in one or more of the following: Introduction to BIS, Accounting Information Systems (AIS), Business Analytics, Programming, IS Systems Design and Development, or Business Process Management. Tenure-track faculty are expected to maintain high quality in teaching. Scholarly activities include scientific investigations that lead to the publication in top journals and establishing a program of recognized, peer-reviewed scholarship of acceptable dimension that projects timely promotion in rank and/or the granting of indefinite tenure. Service duties include engaging in activities within the University and the profession, contributing to strategic initiatives, serving on committees and advising students.



OSU's College of Business is AACSB International accredited and its Accounting Information Systems (AIS) program is endorsed by ISACA through its alignment with ISACA's Model Curriculum for IS Audit and Control. The BIS curriculum emphasizes business process analysis, system design and development and business analytics. Its current faculty members specialize in system development, information retrieval, information visualization, IT governance and business analytics.

Requirements: PhD in Management Information Systems or related field by start date and development of a research program with evidence of, or potential for, research and scholarly publication in the area of Business Analytics or related area. Preferred qualifications include relevant teaching experience at the college/university level; demonstrated ability to collaborate in scholarly pursuits; industry expertise appropriate for the expected research and service focus of business analytics; and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
