The Miller College of Business at Ball State University in Muncie,
Indiana, had hosted two very successful Annual IS Project and Case
Competitions in the spring of 2012 and 2013. Please visit the
Competition site at
http://cms.bsu.edu/academics/collegesanddepartments/mcob/programs/depts/isom/activitiesandopportunities/iscompetition
for universities that had participated, winning teams, and judges’
information. Now, we are pleased to announce its third annual
Information Systems Competition to be held from April 4th to 6th,
2014. We want to invite your students to participate.

The Friday evening reception and dinner provides an excellent
opportunity for your students to network with students and faculty
from other universities. The Saturday Project Competition will serve
as a venue for your students to showcase real-world projects that had
been completed prior to the competition by presenting the projects to
a panel of judges and other participants. The second part of the
competition is a case analysis. Students will be provided a case on
Saturday. Students then utilize their skills to analyze the case and
propose a solution. Each group will present their solution to a panel
of judges on Sunday. Most meals and snacks will be provided by Ball
State University throughout the competition. However, all other costs
will be covered by the students or sponsoring organization. Detail
information is available in the attached information sheet.

The award ceremony will be held Sunday afternoon. For the project
competition, there will be awards for the top three projects and the
top three project presentations. For the case analysis, awards will be
given to the teams that presented the top three solutions. In
addition, awards will be presented to the top three overall teams. All
participants will receive a certificate of participation.

We hope that you will consider providing this unique opportunity for
your students. If your institution is interested in participating,
please e-mail Dr. Catherine Chen (cchen at bsu.edu) with the name of the
institution and department, name of each of the team members, their
years of study, and their majors by Monday, January 27, 2014. Please
call Dr. Catherine Chen at 765-285-5245 if you have questions or need
further information.
