Anticipated Position Description
Assistant Professor of MIS

The University of Oklahoma (OU) anticipates a tenure-track Assistant Professor position becoming available in Fall 2014 for a productive scholar in the area of Management Information Systems (MIS).  Our strong MIS program builds on a solid history of excellence and distinguished senior faculty members.  It offers an undergraduate major in MIS (which has been ranked among the top programs in the country), an undergraduate minor in MIS, an MS in MIS, an MBA/MS in MIS,  a Graduate Certificate in MIS, and a PhD in MIS.  It also operates a Center for MIS Studies, which has close ties to the business community, has an active MIS Student Association, provides sizable scholarships annually, and enjoys strong support from the university and college administrations.  Faculty members are world-renowned, engaged in thriving research programs, generate substantial external research funding, play leadership roles in top journals and conferences, and are outstanding teachers. Significant opportunities exist for professional growth and recognition as a member of OU’s Michael F. Price College of Business, whose various programs are internationally renowned.

Must have an earned PhD in MIS or related disciplines, or ABD with dissertation defended by August 31, 2014.  Desirable qualifications include evidence of excellent research and teaching.  An interest in, experience with or research publications in healthcare or energy management will be a plus.  Salary is open and competitive and will depend upon qualifications.
