[AISWorld] CFP AMCIS 2014 minitrack - Social media in the public sector

Dear AISWorld colleagues


This is a call for papers for the minitrack Social Media in the Public Sector, which is part of the eGovernment track at the forthcoming 20th Americas Conference on Information Systems, Savannah, Georgia, August 7 - 10, 2014.


The mini-track invites papers that use case studies, surveys or other methods that can advance our understanding of social media in the public sector. Suggested topics include the following:


* Social media in the creation and delivery of public value such as openness and transparency.

* Theoretically grounded case studies that demonstrate the negative or positive impact of social media in the public sector in the context of specific events or initiatives.

* The role of social media in emergency management and communication with the public.

* The value of social media as information sources to inform the development and evaluation of policy.

* Studies focused on the impact of social media in public health care.

* Strategies and policies for the planning and implementation of social media in the public sector.

* Social, legal and ethical issues of social media in the public sector, including theoretical perspectives on the concept of Government 2.0 and its practical implications.

* Cost/benefit perspectives and further managerial issues related to evaluating social media in the public sector.

* Theories and models of citizen-government relationships on social media.

* New perspectives on researching social media in the public sector, specifically approaches using online data collection techniques and social media analytics.


Deadline for submitting papers: midnight, Savannah (EST) time, March 1, 2014
