Call for Participation
Social Information Systems: scope and potential
A pre-Conference Workshop on June 8 at ECIS2014 in Tel Aviv, Israel (http://ecis2014.eu/ )

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together IS scholars who are conducting research into Social Information Systems (Social IS) which is an emerging topic within the field of IS whose meaning is still evolving. The workshop will provide a forum within which participating scholars can collaborate to determine the scope and thematic content of the area of Social IS. The workshop will lead to papers that will be submitted for a special issue of a leading journal

Important Activities and Dates:

*         March 17, 2014 deadline for submissions of short papers (3000-5000 words in ECIS paper format) to Helen Hasan (contact email below). These will be reviewed by the workshop organisers for suitability based on the Workshop description on the website.

*         Acceptances sent out by April 7, 2013 (in time for the ECIS2014 early-bird registration).

*         April 16 ECIS Earlybird registration date - Each accepted paper must have at least one author registered

*         April accepted papers of registered author(s) will be distributed to workshop participants with an opportunity for authors to exchange views online in May before the workshop.

*         At the workshop, authors will give presentations that will be followed by breakouts sessions for the development of themes on which authors will have the opportunity to collaborate on papers for subsequent submission to the special issue (details TBA).
