Computer Information Systems and Principles of Programming



The College of Business at James Madison University invites applications for a renewable term faculty appointment in the Department of Computer Information Systems & Business Analytics. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of faculty delivering the undergraduate computer information systems and business analytics programs.



Primary teaching emphasis will include Introduction to Computer Information Systems and Principles of Programming (VB). Preference may be given to candidates capable of teaching one or more additional courses in the CIS or Business Analytics curriculum. In addition to teaching, this position requires general service to the institution and the ability to maintain professional qualifications.

*         Master's degree in a directly related discipline required.

*         Master's degree from an AACSB or ABET accredited program preferred.

*         Teaching and professional work experiences in a directly related discipline are preferred.



The Computer Information Systems (CIS) curriculum prepares business students for careers as information systems professionals. The JMU College of Business is accredited by the AASCB and the program in Computer Information Systems is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. The minor in Business Analytics (BSAN) prepares students to solve complex business decision problems, combining quantitative skills, hands-on expertise, and current software applications.
