Qualified applicants are sought for two software engineering postdoctoral positions within the Governance Risk and Compliance Technology Centre (GRCTC) at University College Cork. This is a multidisciplinary research centre funded by the Irish Government. Details of these positions may be obtained from: http://www.ucc.ie/en/hr/vacancies/research/. We seek candidates with interest in applied research on semantic technologies for adoption by industry. A PhD in Computer Science or a comparable qualification is required with experience in one of more of the following areas:
Knowledge representation, Ontology engineering, Rule-based systems, AI & Law, Natural Language Processing, Business Process Modelling and related areas. Experience with Linked-data, data integration, Semantic Web technologies (RDF, RDFS, SPARQL, OWL2) and programming (Java, C++, .Net, Perl, etc.) is desired. Knowledge of Object Management Group (OMG) specifications is also desirable (ODM, UML, BPMN, SBVR, DMM, etc.)
The successful candidates should have a good research record with publications in software engineering/computer science at relevant international conferences and journals.
The positions are for one year initially, staring immediately, with the possibility of extension to 5 years. Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team are essential.
