The 18th Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS 2014), June 24-48, 2014, Chengdu, China
Track: Information Systems Security and Privacy<http://pacis2014.org/track_iss.php>
Track Description:
The rapid growth of the Internet and mushrooming advances in telecommunications, networking, and data transmission and storage techniques have improved personal and organizational communications but also exposed them to unforeseeable threats in the inter-connected cyber world. Therefore it is imperative to understand the behaviors, regulations, laws, strategies, technologies, and policies associated with end-users, groups, organizations, and societies that address security and privacy issues.
The Information Systems Security and Privacy track provides a forum for researchers to exchange ideas and discuss on security and privacy research. We seek to address such pivotal questions as: How are organizational and/or individual information risks remedied? What is the perception of privacy and security versus organizational and/or individual decision-making? How can individuals or organizations move towards a more secure computing environment? What is the role of culture in the development and implementation of secure technologies in the globe? How do online social networks threaten the security and privacy of online users? What are the underlying economic or cultural implications of new security? How to design and develop more effective security and privacy regulations and policies?
The track welcomes both empirical and theoretical submissions using design science, behavioral, empirical, economic, and managerial approaches.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Trust in security and privacy
• IS security governance
