Advancing Cloud Computing

Submission deadline: 1 April 2014
Publication: November/December 2014

As cloud computing is entering into mainstream adoption, it's poised for the
next phase of its evolution. Driven by the benefits that cloud computing
offers, business, industry, governments, and individuals are increasingly
using the cloud for their information processing, computational, and
developmental needs. Cloud computing is also opening up several new
opportunities previously unimaginable. However, the cloud still poses some
risks and key challenges. This issue of IT Professional aims to discuss
unresolved issues and challenges and also present a snapshot of ongoing
advances in cloud computing.

We seek submissions on all aspects of cloud computing, including, but not
limited to, the following:

. Cloud services (traditional and new)

. Cloud deployment: models, options and considerations

. Cloud architecture and technologies

. Cloud and grid technology

. Mobile cloud

. Green cloud

. Cloud portability and interoperability

. Cloud integration and federation

. Cloud standards

. Security and privacy in the cloud

. Cloud forensics

. Cloud simulation, testing and validation

. Big data and data analytics in cloud

. Cloud gaming

. Cloud adoption by business, industry and government

. Cloud governance

. Coping with cloud failures

. Cloud economics

. Business processes in cloud

. Impact of cloud computing on IT industry and IT professionals
