2nd Call for Contributions
-----------------------------
2nd Intelligent Users / Intelligent Cities Workshop
co-located with the 10th International Conference on Intelligent
Environments (IE '14)
http://iuic14.orbitlab.gr

June 30 - July 1, 2014 - Shanghai, China

Overview
------------
The proliferation of online social networks, hybrid realities and
virtual spaces among others, have accelerated the transformation of
users’ perceptions regarding their real and virtual social presence,
as they can create, manipulate and share their digital personas in the
online, as they do in the offline one. Therefore, such technologically
enabled realities have altered the way we, today, perceive image, self
and space.

Aims & Scope
-------------------
The workshop focuses on user behavior and familiarization with
intelligent systems as well as the latters’ integration within the
urban space. In particular, it will try to identify techniques, which,
through the examination of the characteristics of the user of the
smart city, will make relevant and reasonable the way the city is
transformed into the smart and augmented city of the future. The main
goal is to examine how computing weaves its way through the urban
environment and the everyday life of the habitants. Therefore, the
main goal of the workshop is to first identify users of intelligent
environments by giving them characteristics, and then recognize the
parameters that establish the city as an intelligent environment. What
is a “smart – intelligent city” and how this vision can be realized.
