Clinical Position in Management Information Systems at Washington State University (Pullman Campus) (Position #119026)

The Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Washington State University, in Pullman, Washington is seeking applicants for a potentially renewable 3-year clinical position (open rank) with a focus in Management Information Systems starting August 2014.

The online application will require 1) a cover letter addressing each of the required and preferred qualification criteria, 2) curriculum vitae, including courses taught and a summary of student evaluation scores for the past three years, and 3) three letters of recommendation written within the past year.

Duties

The position requires teaching core introductory MIS courses at the undergraduate level. Teaching in online programs and at the master’s level may also be expected. The normal teaching load is 12 hours (4 courses/semester).

The successful candidate will also be expected to make significant service contributions to the department, college, university, community, and profession commensurate with rank.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications


·         An MBA, MS, or Ph.D. degree in Management Information Systems or a closely related field from a nationally or internationally recognized university.

·         Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and teaching effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications


·         At least 2-3 years of work experience in MIS or a closely-related field.

·         Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with diverse student and community populations and the potential to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and service.

·         Strong understanding of basic business concepts across major business functions developed through academic coursework and/or business skills.

·         Ability to engage students and manage large core classes.

Term and Compensation

The term of appointment is a nine-month academic year, beginning on August 18, 2014.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience; benefits are competitive; the retirement system is TIAA/CREF.
