Master Class on Agent Technologies

for Energy Systems 2014

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you about the upcoming 'Master Class on Agent Technologies for Energy Systems 2014’. This Master class conceives a 3-day workshop on Agent Technologies for Energy Systems. The event is organized by the Delft University of Technology in close collaboration with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the Alliander Company and takes place from Wednesday through Friday the 21st till the 23th of May 2014.
Computer networks are increasingly used in the traditional electricity grid and the Smart Energy grid is emerging. Agent technology provides an opportunity to make the Grid even more `intelligent’ by, for example, allowing prosumers (energy consumers that also produce energy) to form a community that acts as an energy provider (virtual power stations) or to provide the mechanisms that enable spot pricing for energy consumers and producers.
The objective of the Master class is to offer you the opportunity to become familiar with instruments that support the thinking and learning process about ‘smarter energy systems’. It is to create a mutual exchange of views, knowledge and experiences and establish collaboration between the participants to optimize their learning experience.
The target group is a mix of representatives from companies, scientists and students (30 – 60 participants). The fee for registration is 100 Euro for regular participants and 50 euro for student participants. The fee includes lunch, refreshments and the Thursday evening dinner.
A limited number of students can be exempted from the registration fee. To apply for the exemption, students should hand in their CV plus a letter of motivation (1 page) until 15th May 2014 to f.heidari [AT] Tudelft dot nl.
More information can be obtained here<http://www.tbm.tudelft.nl/ates2014> where you can also register for the event till May 15th.
Please do not hesitate to share this information with your colleagues, peers and students.

Kindest regards,
Prof. Dr. Frances Brazier
