The University of Colorado Denver (UCD) seeks a full-time visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Information Systems in the Business School at the Downtown Denver Campus. This position will have a one year contact beginning in Fall, 2014 with the potential to move to a permanent position beginning in Fall, 2015.The visitor will be expected to be active in research and must ordinarily teach 2 courses per semester. The Business School has about 70 full-time faculty, and offers the largest graduate business program in the region with about 1,000 MBA and MS students, plus 1,400 undergraduate business students.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Information Systems (or a closely related field) from an AACSB accredited (or equivalent) university. All applicants must have the potential for both high quality teaching and high quality academic research, and be willing to support the information systems department and its initiatives. Candidates at the associate level must provide evidence of teaching excellence and a strong record of outstanding publications in top tier information systems journals. The individual will also be expected to engage in scholarly research, and collaborate with doctoral students and other faculty in the department.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to teach courses in the following areas: cyber-security and privacy, networks and telecommunications, programming languages for Web and Mobile application development, and digital innovations. Candidates must present evidence of strength in teaching and research performance.
Job Responsibilities: The position consists of 40% teaching, 40% research and 20% service. Teaching: the normal teaching load consists of 4 courses (3 hours each) during a 9-month contract period. The Information Systems department has instructional opportunities for the following courses in security, networking, and programming languages. The visiting faculty member will be expected to teach Information Systems courses at the Undergraduate and Master levels and should have prior teaching experience in technical courses. Research: We seek scholars who can produce research of excellent quality that can be published in top journals in the information systems area.
