New at AMCIS 2014, a workshop for mid-career faculty, led by mid-career faculty on Thursday, August 7 from 7:30am - 2:45pm at the Westin Savannah Hotel.

After reaching the milestone of tenure and promotion, it's not uncommon to be wondering "now what?" Although this crisis of meaning may be common in one's mid-career, these views are rarely discussed openly. The Mid-Career Faculty workshop at AMCIS 2014 seeks to create an environment for associate professors to discover opportunities, exchange experiences, and establish new connections with peers.
This workshop is different because it is peer led. The facilitators and panelists are associate professors or faculty that have just been promoted to full professor. This mid-career faculty workshop is specifically for those that have reached tenure and/or promotion to associate professor and are now wondering how best to move forward in their career. The facilitators and panelists are mid-career faculty that have chosen options such as administration, pursuit of grants, editorial positions, switching schools, focus on teaching or outreach, among others. The panelists are from a mix of research-oriented universities and teaching-oriented universities.

The theme of this workshop is "The Mindset After Tenure." As a participant, you can expect panel discussions and to join in breakout sessions and interactive discussions. For more details, visit http://amcis2014.aisnet.org/index.php/mid-career-workshop.

Registration costs only $25, but attendance is limited to the first 40 registrants. It is an AIS-sponsored event, so all participants must be registered for the conference.
