The University of Memphis, Fogelman College of Business & Economics has an opening for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications, in Management Information Systems starting Fall 2015 (or possibly earlier). Qualifications: Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. degree with a concentration in information systems or a closely related field such as statistics, operations, or management science by the beginning of the appointment. Candidates should have begun to establish a record of excellence in research, evidenced by research targeted at high quality journals. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence with an interest and/or background for teaching in business analytical areas with an emphasis on Big Data and/or Social Media analytics. Advanced Assistant Professor and Associate Professor Candidates will be expected to have a research record of publication in top tier MIS journals and be supportive of teaching business analytics in the MBA and/or MSBA degree programs.
The Fogelman College of Business and Economics<http://fcbe.memphis.edu/> is AACSB accredited and serves approximately 3,000 undergraduate and 580 graduate students. The Department of Management Information Systems<http://www.people.memphis.edu/%7Einfosys/> is an academically diverse, professionally active group of 17 full-time faculty members and offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs.  The BBA degree program is one of the largest undergraduate majors in the College and University, and utilizes the AIS Model Curriculum as its foundation. The MSBA degree with a concentration in MIS also has high enrollment with a high percentage of international students.  The Ph.D. degree program is very active and is the only Ph.D. program in MIS in the State of Tennessee. The MIS department has an active research faculty who regularly publish in high impact journals. Current faculty members have served in senor editorial roles for such journals as MISQ and ISR. The department maintains strong relationships with the Memphis business community and is engaged with a wide range of regional CIOs and technology leaders.
