[AISWorld] Tenure Track Position in MIS at U of GA for a Senior Assistant Professor

The Department of Management Information Systems in the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning January 2015, or August 2015. Preference will be given applicants with several years of publication success and experience as assistant professors.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related discipline from an AACSB accredited university or international equivalent, an established research record with publications in premier journals, a strong trajectory for future publications, and demonstrated excellence in teaching Information Systems at the graduate and/or undergraduate level. Ability to teach technical courses such as programming, database, or business process management is a plus. Knowledge of cutting-edge methodologies and complementary skills to contribute to the quality of the Ph.D. program are also considered a plus.

The Management Information Systems Department offers the following degrees: Ph.D., Master of Internet Technology, and BBA in MIS. In addition, the Terry College of Business offers MBA and Executive MBA degrees. Current research initiatives include Energy Informatics, Health Informatics, Research Methods, IS Leadership & Strategy, Digital Innovation Platforms & Infrastructure and a variety of other topics.

The MIS Department is consistently ranked very highly nationally and internationally for both its programs and its scholarly productivity. For example, the most recent ranking of U.S. News & World Report (2014) ranks the undergraduate MIS program 8th in the nation and the MBA IS specialty 15th. The Terry College of Business is ranked 15th among public institutions in the same ranking.

The University of Georgia, located in the "Classic City" of Athens, sixty miles from Atlanta, is the flagship university within The University System of Georgia.
