The amount of structured and unstructured data has been exploding in recent
years leading to the concept of Big Data. Analytics based on Big Data has
the potential for organizations to gain and sustain competitive
advantage. Companies
are looking for ways to outrun their competitors through innovation in
analytics which lead to deeper understanding of customer needs. However,
while there has been significant interest in looking for ways to enhance
competitiveness, there is new interest in examining how big data can help
companies collaborate both internally and externally. For example, in
marketing, companies are not just looking at how big data analytics can
help acquire, grow and retain customers but also at how it can enhance
collaboration with customers and partners. Another emerging area is
collaborative generation and use of big-data through crowdsourcing and open
source data sets. Managing, processing and use of these data sets pose new
challenges which make it a fertile area for research.

Topics of interest include, but not limited to:

   -

Challenges for collaboration in Big Data
   -

Benefits of Collaboration and Big Data
   -

Storage and management of Collaborative Big Data
   -

Crowdsourcing of the Big Data tasks
   -

Security and privacy in Collaborative Big Data
   -

   Applications of Collaborative Big Data
   -

Use of Big data for internal collaboration
   -

External Collaboration through use of Big Data
   -

Case studies on Big Data and Collaboration
   -

Adaptive collaboration systems that feature modeling, collaboration, and
advanced analytics to detect patterns, make sense, simulate, predict,
learn, take action, and improve performance with use and scale.
   -

Application of control-theoretic models to interactions among social
   entities
   -

Application of survival models to predict hazard rate of computer
   supported social processes
   -

Application of N-person game theory in problems arising from unregulated
   use of collaboration systems
   -

Application of social network analysis (SNA) on big data in
   collaboration systems
