University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee College of Hospitality &
Technology Leadership invites applications to Associate Professor in
Information Technology/Security to begin Fall Semester, 2014 or Spring 2015
Semester. This is a 12 month position.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

   - Earned doctoral degree (Ph.D./Ed.D.) from a regionally accredited
   institution of higher education in Information Technology/Security,
   computer engineering or related field
   - Qualified for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor
   - Specializing in the areas of information security in both teaching and
   research
   - Evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching
   - Evidence of excellence in active research, publication, and
   scholarship in the areas of information security, networking security and
   emerging technology.
   - Experience in collaborative grant writing and development


*Preferred Qualifications*

   - Earned doctoral degree from an ABET accredited institution.
   - Active hands on leadership experience
   - 5-8 years of teaching experience at college level
   - 5-8 years industry experience
   - Strong hardware & software background
   - Active or inactive security clearance
   - Demonstrated interest with on-line/distance learning and other
   alternative delivery systems

The position reports to the Dean of College of Hospitality & Technology
Leadership on the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus. Responsibilities include
leading the Program in enhancing teaching and research in information
technology/security, conducting research and scholarship activities;
securing grant and outside funding; mentoring junior faculty; preparing for
ABET professional accreditation; teaching undergraduate courses in the
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program both on-line and
in-person; engaging in outreach and service activities; participating in
curriculum and program development; actively serving on and chairing
department and university committees. USF Sarasota-Manatee is the primary
campus for this position; however, this position may also teach on other
USF campuses or off-campus locations. Appointment is for a 9-month, tenured
position, and includes an excellent benefits package.
