[AISWorld] AMCIS 2014 Pre-Conference Workshop on GIS

Explore how Geographic Information Systems can add or open up new areas of
research and teaching by attending the AMCIS 2014 Pre-Conference on GIS
(Thursday, August 7, 8:15AM-1:00PM).

This workshop will:

   - Explain fundamental spatial concepts.
   - Justify GIS’s importance in the IS discipline.
   - Provide examples of use in smart sustainability, real estate,
   logistics, marketing, insurance, crime analysis, government, and nonprofits.
   - Explain role of geo-spatial analysis and intelligence for business &
   government.
   - Inform on GIS in business and IS/IT curricula and teaching.
   - Explore existing research methods, body of published work, theories,
   research questions, journal outlets.

This year’s keynote speaker is *Bill Meehan, *Director of utility solutions
at Esri.
