We are delighted to invite you to experience an exciting new online learning course offered by University of Edinburgh: PGCert in Making Use of Digital Research.

Based on the latest research into the social and economic influences on how digital research is being developed and used, this PGCert is designed both for novices and for more experienced students and professionals who need to maintain a critical appreciation of the fast moving field of digital research.

Application deadline for September intake is 31st of August 2014.

The PGCert comprises a suite of courses that together provide the critical understanding and skills needed to make best use of digital research findings, with a particular focus on social media research, web 2.0 data and their synergies with publicly available ‘open’ administrative datasets. 

The PGCert in Making use of Digital Research is:

* an opportunity to develop the skills to succeed in the fast moving field of digital research.

* attractive to students looking for a convenient and recognized way to continue their studies at the University of Edinburgh while working. The course contributes 60 credits that are accepted by a range of on-campus MSc level courses and may provide a pathway to starting a PhD. Alumni may enjoy a 10% graduate discount for continuing Masters programmes.

* includes tutorials on how to use social media for research purposes, as well as practical guidance on their use in business and policy.  The course can help your organisations build internal capacity.
