AUBURN UNIVERSITY AT MONTGOMERY
COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

Assistant/Associate Professor of Information Systems

The Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM), College of Business seeks accomplished faculty candidates to fill a 9-month, tenure-track vacancy at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  The position may be occupied as early as January 2015, but no later than August 2015.  Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution.  Candidates must present evidence of exceptional teaching evaluations, a record of publication in top-tier journals, and collaboration with academic and non-academic organizations.  Teaching requirements at AUM will span undergraduate and graduate programs with a teaching load of three 3-hour courses in each Fall and Spring for a total of six courses during the academic year.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Candidates with experience teaching any or all of the following courses are needed to fill this vacancy:

*         Programming at the undergraduate and graduate level including Java, C++, web development, mobile application development, and systems analysis

*         Database including introductory and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses to include Oracle or similar enterprise DBMS, UNIX system administration, and Storage Area Network (SAN) courses

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


*         Doctorate from an AACSB accredited institution in Information Systems or related discipline.

*         Successful teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

*         Strong, continuous record of research productivity in top-tier journals.

*         Ability and willingness to collaborate across disciplines both within the college and across campus.

DEPARTMENT AND COLLEGE

The Department of Information Systems and Management is part of the College of Business which is AACSB accredited.  The Information Systems faculty members are responsible for the undergraduate (B.S.B.A.) degree program in Information Systems and a newly established Master of Science in Information System Management (MSISM) degree program.  The department currently has approximately 220 undergraduate majors.

In the Spring of 2013 the College embarked on an ambitious strategic planning process and has begun to champion a platform focused on placing students 1st in all endeavors, developing an innovative and entrepreneurial environment in which to operate and committing to deliberate outreach as a fully participative member of the Montgomery Business Community, the State of Alabama, and the region.
